Product Description

Ecowoodoil's Natural Decking Oil is a multi-purpose penetrating finish for ALL Exterior Timbers (except Garden Furniture and older Tongue and Groove Verandahs). It is a full bodied Oil for the nourishment and protection of exposed timbers.

Tung & other vital plant oils have been impregnated with natural bees-wax to guard against exposure, degradation & wood rot. These oils are then enhanced with Oxides and UV rated colour enhancers to maximise the time between recoats.

COLOURS:
Timbertone - a Semi transparent finish giving a honey brown finish to Treated Pine and a neutral effect on Hardwoods.
Light Redwood - A semi transparent finish with additional UV protection. Recommended for enhancing naturally Red or Pink timbers.
Golden Pine - A semi transparent finish with additional UV protection. Recommended to enhance light coloured timbers with a yellow undertone. It also serves to keep naturally Red or Brown timbers lighter in colour.

APPLICATION:

KEY APPLICATION TIP: DO NOT over apply to hardwood timbers. The use of lambswool / cloth-pad applicators (NOT rollers) can save on the amount of rubbing off excess oil after application.

NEW TIMBER CONSTRUCTIONS: For superior protection, apply two coats to all accessible surfaces prior to construction. After all, once it has been built, the majority of the surface of your expensive new timber may never be accessible again

STAINING: There are 3 colour options available – DO NOT add further, other-brand colourants to our products. “Golden Pine” and “Light Redwood” may be applied to any species of timber, though their strengths are amplification of your timber’s existing colour/s and their ability to transform the usually bland appearance of Treated-Pine. “Timber Tone” would be the best option for those seeking the “natural” (lightest colour impact) finish, providing a matt “wet-look” to red/brown Hardwoods, and a light tan, honeyed effect on Pines and blonde Hardwoods/Softwoods.

PREPARATION: See the "How to Guides" for preparing Brand New Timbers and Weathered Timbers prior to Oiling.

MAINTENANCE: After firstly ensuring timber is CLEAN and DRY, only 1 (ONE) coat re-application is required to areas seen to be necessary every 6 - 18 months (depending on the intensity of the timber's exposure to U-V rays).

CLEAN UP: with warm soapy water or Gum Turpentine.

COVERAGE: These estimates are quoted in square metres per litre. Actual Coverage will depend on the type of timber and its preparation. Bear in mind that unnecessarily using too much oil not only costs you more but could also lead to a tacky finish and possible whitening when moisture contacts excess oil residues.
